On September 21, news report about a 3-year-old girl in Shenzhen who died after parents left her in the car triggered a heated debate among netizens.
The couple's neighbor said that the family went out to eat with their relatives. After eating, they drove back home and the parents went to play Mahjong at the parlor next to their house.
Since the child was sleeping in the car, they forgot to take her, the time was around 2pm. It's reported that the couple also have a son—who after not seeing his sister for a long time started looking for her.
The parents became aware of the situation and found the child still locked inside the car at 4pm. At the time, the surrounding environment's temperature was about 30 degrees and the car was very hot.
According to neighbors, the child had drunk three bottles of mineral water that were left inside the car.
They rushed her to the hospital but doctors were not able to save her life. According to medical staff at the hospital, the child had no vital signs when she arrived.
At present, Bao'an police are still investigating the incident.
